The WSTB Technical Rating is calculated by Which Stocks To Buy from stored end-of-day market data. The same rules are applied consistently, without opinions or manual editing.
In short
We apply one consistent, rules-based technical screen to end-of-day market data. A company appears in the Stock Selection only when its current rating is Buy or Strong Buy. The result is research information, not personal investment advice.
1. Market coverage
Each market covers a defined group of listed companies. Funds and other instruments that are not ordinary company shares are excluded, so the Stock Selection stays focused on companies available in that market.
2. The WSTB Technical Rating
For every covered company, we calculate a WSTB Technical Rating from its stored end-of-day price history. Multiple established technical measures are combined under fixed rules and translated into a clear rating label.
A company needs enough valid trading history before it can be rated. If enough data is not available, it remains unrated rather than receiving an estimated result.
3. A mechanical filter
The companies shown are those whose current WSTB Technical Rating meets the published selection threshold. That step is mechanical and repeatable: there is no manual review or opinion. When a company no longer meets that threshold, it is marked as Removed in the next published change, so members can see what changed.
4. Refresh, storage and freshness
Market data is refreshed on a schedule per market and stored, and the rating is recalculated from it, so every page shows stored data rather than a live data call. Each list states the date the market data belongs to, and when data is older than expected it is flagged as such instead of being presented as current.
The data source can change
The market-data source is part of the service, not a permanent promise. If the source changes, the rating remains ours and follows the same rules. The rating method is versioned, so material changes to those rules can be documented.
What this is not
The WSTB Technical Rating describes price behaviour, not business quality. A company appearing in a list is a starting point for your own research. It is not a recommendation, a price target, or personal investment advice, and it does not guarantee future performance.
